Cosy, country cottage set in the beautiful Bowmont Valley

Hoolit Cottage is set in a two, acre secluded country site surrounded by the Bowmont Valley. Its also on the edge of the Northumberland National Park and only a kilometre from the Scottish Borders. The cottage is close to many historic towns, landmarks and local attractions and is perfect for a wonderful family holiday or peaceful country retreat.


• Fully equipped fitted kitchen/diner with cooker, microwave, fridge, washing machine and dishwasher.
• Cosy living room with TV/DVD PLayer linked to an owl box camera. There is a small library of books, DVD's, games, maps and guides. The living room opens out to a private patio area with seating and BBQ. There is also seating to the front and rear of the cottage.
• Central heating and log burning stove.
• Double and twin bedrooms plus cot and high chair for an additional smaller visitor.
• Upstairs bathroom and additional shower and toilet downstairs.
• Beautiful views across the Bowmont Valley.


• The cottage is set in a two acre, site of woodland, meadow, streams and ponds. It is rich in wildlife and ideal for those who want to be close to nature.
• For children we have pets including chickens, ducks, turkeys and sheep. For the adventurous explorers we have gardens with tree swings and bridges, oh, and the Harelaw fairies!
• The cottage is close to many historical towns including Kelso, Coldstream, Melrose, Jedburgh, Wooler and Berwick and many attractions including Harestanes, The Hirsel Craft Centre and Paxton House.
• The region is renowned for its castles and fortifications. Berwick, Lindisfarne, Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh, Norham, Etal and Warkworth are within easy reach. Alnwick Castle is only 35 miles away.
• Some of Northumberlands incredible, unspoilt, beaches are also just over half an hours drive away.
• The amazing City of Edinburgh is only an hours drive away or by train from Melrose or Berwick.
• Hoolit is an Ideal location for walkers. The cottage is close to many local walks in the Cheviots and National Park and is very close to the Pennine Way and St Cuthbert's Way which cross at Kirk Yetholm only two miles away. There
• The nearest shops are in Yetholm which has a village shop, butcher, two pubs, a Post Office and a garage.
• We have just two prices and we don’t put our prices up for the school holidays.
