Sleeps 1-3; Wi-fi; dogs welcome; lovely tow path walks;convenient for shops
'29’, a cosy, mid-terrace cottage, ideal for one to three persons, is situated on the outskirts of the much acclaimed medieval town of Skipton, often called 'the Gateway to the Dales'.
From its pleasant, enclosed garden, there is private access to walks along the canal tow path, with lovely views across the surrounding countryside. '29' is ideally placed for visiting the Yorkshire Dales - by road or rail - or for exploring the historic market town of Skipton, with its well preserved castle, canal boat trips, its 4-day market, and quaint cobbled ginnels, leading unexpectedly to fascinating shops and tea rooms.
'29' is thoroughly cleaned, and maintained at each change over.
There is a traditionally furnished, comfortable lounge with a coal-effect gas fire, Smart Freesat. T.V., DVD player, radio and C.D. player. The well appointed dining-kitchen has a full size gas cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer, washer drier, and dining table for 3. The outer door leads to a sheltered, enclosed, flagged garden; and with garden furniture provided, is ideal for the sedentary visitor. For the more energetic, 7 steps and a private gate, lead onto the canal tow path - most convenient for the dog walkers and joggers! A twenty minutes' walk - passing the park, and perhaps meeting a narrow boat,- takes you into the town.
Upstairs there is a large family bedroom with good quality, very comfortable double and single bed. The fully tiled bathroom has a shower over the bath, pedestal basin and W.C. To keep costs to a minimum, guests are free to bring their own towels and bed linen, or alternatively these can be supplied for a charge of £8, or £15 per bed respectively.
Dogs are welcome, but must not be left alone indoors at any time, nor allowed on any furniture. (£15 each per week)
Double glazing, full central heating, and a gas fire make '29' a cosy base for the off season visitor. There is private off road parking at the front of the house, for one vehicle.
The bus stop is just at the end of Broughton Grove; and '29' is within 15 minutes' walking distance of the local supermarket, a restaurant and the railway station; from where, one can travel the awesome and bleak Settle Carlisle route, or get a ticket to Morecambe. There are endless easily accessible attractions to suit all ages and all weather conditions; from interesting museums, sports and leisure centres and local cinema, to excellent opportunities for cycling, walks and rambles of various lengths, from easy to strenuous, such as the Three Peaks and The Dales Way.
'29' is a convenient base for accessing many nearby towns and villages of particular interest: Keighley and Haworth; Bolton Abbey, Ilkley and Otley; Harrogate and Knaresborough; Pateley Bridge and Ramsgill; Grassington, and Malham, and many more. Not surprisingly, visitors keep revisiting, to discover further delights of the Yorkshire Dales, as well as to return to their favourite haunts.
