Mount Earl is only a 20 minute rugged walk to the unspoilt secluded Downas Cove where seals and basking sharks have been spotted. The South West Coast Path is close by incorporating the breathtaking vantage point of Black Head and far reaching views towards England's most southerly point.
The cottage is situated 1½ miles from the pretty fishing village of Coverack which has a beautiful sandy beach, shops, cafes, seafood resturant and Pub.
The village of St Keverne is 3 miles away where there is a lovely Church with views from the back towards Falmouth Bay. There is a Londis store, Post Office and Newagents and there are two Pubs set within the village square both serving food.
There are many things to do in the area within a short drive. Beaches at Coverack, (where you can hire kayaks and windsurfers) Downas Cove(only accessable by foot), Kennack Sands, Porthallow (which is renowed for its fishing and diving) and Godreavy Cove. Fishing and scenic boat trips are available from Porthleven and Penzance. The fishing village of Cadgwith is well worth a visit where you can buy delicious freshly caught Crab and Lobster. The Pub there also does great food.
There are Attractions at Flambards Theme Park, Roskilly Dairy Farm, Gweek Seal Sanctuary, Goonhilly Satellite Observatory visitors centre, Lizard Point. Tropical Gardens at Glendurgan and Trebah and the picturesque Helford River. Falmouth offers the Maritime Museum, Harbour and large range of shops and recently opened is Rick Steins Fish & Chip shop/resturant and Oyster bar The world famous Land mark of St Michaels Mount is approx 20 miles away and there is also a family friendly beach at Marizion opposite the Mount. Land's End and the Minnack Open Air Theatre are both about 30 miles away and the Eden Project is approx 40 miles away.
