Welcome to the rural heart of North Yorkshire - to Ryedale, Malton and our home village of Slingsby. Our cottage provides the ideal base for touring, walking, cycling and exploring the many picturesque villages, stately homes and attractions of the region. Slingsby is 16 miles north east of the historic city of York, 6 miles west of the market town of Malton on the B1257. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, miles of footpaths and attractive rural villages come and discover Slingsby, Ryedale and this area of North Yorkshire.
In Slingsby you will find a pub serving meals, farm shop and children's play park. Nearby are the market towns of Malton, Kirkbymoorside, Pickering and Helmsley, while York, the North Yorkshire Moors and the East Coast are also within easy reach.
The Arches (part of Home Farm Holiday Cottages) is furnished to a very high standard, with all the facilities needed for a comfortable stay. Free wifi is available and the accommodation has been sympathetically converted from old farm buildings, providing a cosy and well maintained home from home. In addition, the cottage is on ground floor level with easy access.
It is a few years since we set to work converting the old farm buildings into a cosy holiday cottage, and we're very pleased with the result. The Arches is a ground floor cottage (only one step to main bedroom) and retains many of its original features: high bedroom ceilings with exposed wood beams. The cottage is well equipped for four guests. There is also a widescreen TV with Freeview, DVD player and a well-equipped kitchen.
With the many home comforts and facilities provided in The Arches you have a most agreeable and comfortable way to spend a week self-catering in North Yorkshire.
The Arches holiday cottage sleeps four people. The accommodation comprises:
Sitting room/dining room with open fire (or electric fire),
Well equipped kitchen
Boiler/cloakroom room
Two bedrooms:
one double with 5' bed and en suite shower room
one twin (can be zipped and linked to form double)
Bathroom with shaver points, bath, over bath shower, wash hand basin and WC
Bathroom with bath, over bath shower, WC and wash hand basin.
Outside there is ample private parking and a private garden with patio furniture. .
We welcome weekly bookings .Short breaks are available. The prices quoted are nightly for the first 3 nights, additionnal nights are at a cheaper rate. Balance will be payable by cheque or BACS transfer.
