The cottage is ideally situated on the South Coast Path between Durdle Door and Weymouth at the heart of a designated area of ‘Outstanding Natural Beauty’ close to Ringstead Bay, Weymouth and UNESCO’s World Heritage Jurassic Coast. It offers opportunities for a wide range of interests.

There are three bedrooms - one king, a double and a single (double bed against the wall) and two+ bathrooms. The cottage is tastefully furnished and well equipped. A log-burner makes for cosy winter evenings. There is a large patio, perfect for alfresco dining on warm summer evenings, and an enclosed garden. Supervised and well behaved dogs are welcome.
It is an excellent base for walking, birdwatching, horse-riding, fishing, cycling and is perfect for families with stunning beaches and lots to do in the local and surrounding area.
The village pub, The Smugglers Inn (dog friendly), is just 200 yards walk from the cottage and is renowned for its good food and ambience. There has been an inn on the site since the 13th century.
Osmington Mills and the surrounding area was painted by the landscape artist John Constable in the early 19th century and he spent his honeymoon here in 1816.
The village is along a rural and quiet country road leading only to the inn and coast, yet within short driving distances are the seaside resorts of Weymouth and Swanage, the county town of Dorchester and the historic market town of Wareham. A perfect location for exploring the beautiful county of Dorset
Situated on the South Coast Path between Durdle Door and Weymouth, the area offers opportunities for a wide range of interests.
For the natural historian, an enormous variety of wildlife exists within a diverse range of habitats dictated by the geology and geography of the World Heritage Centre-classified Jurassic Coast.
For those who like their activity wet, coasteering on the rocky coastline, kayaking, sub-aqua, fishing, or just plain swimming are available (as well as sand-castle building on the beach.)
Horse-riding, lake fishing and golf are both available close by.
We welcome quiet, well-managed and well-behaved dogs, (two maximum) at £20 per pooch, to cover extra house cleaning, please refer to our terms and conditions.
