Creel Cottage - Borgue in The Stewartry of Kirkcudbright, a cottage in Dumfries and Galloway: Creel Cottage - Borgue exterior

Open plan cottage, sleeps 4, idyllic sea views & private enclosed garden, Wi-Fi

Creel cottage is a comfortable cosy cottage, a stones throw from the sea! An ideal base to explore the best of South West Scotland's attractions.

Decorated and maintained to a high standard, the open plan, L shaped kitchen/lounge/dining area has leather sofas, and a lovely oak dining table and four chairs. There is a Dowling “Firebug” multifuel burning stove - for which we will provide fuel - for those cosy nights in. DVD's, WiFi and other entertainment is also provided, for those rainy days. The well equipped kitchen has everything necessary to cater for the whole family during your stay, where you can prepare tasty meals with the sight and sound of the sea rolling in towards Creel Cottage. You can enjoy a glass of wine on the balcony whilst watching the children play on the beach, and there is also a delightful, enclosed private garden to the rear with flagged patio area, BBQ and seating for al fresco dining with a selection of unbreakable plates and glasses.

There are two bedrooms - a double room, and a twin room with contemporary Laura Ashley design, décor and locally sourced finishing touches for a quality, restful nights sleep.

The bathroom comprises of a toilet, wash hand basin, electric shaving point, a bath for relaxing, and an invigorating overhead shower. There is also an electric fan heater and electric towel rail.

On arrival you will be greeted by either a home cake or some handmade chocolates to enjoy whilst you start your relaxing break and contemplate what to explore first - Kirkcudbright, known as the artists town, is steeped in history since Anglo-Saxon times, and served as a location for 70's classic The Wicker Man, with several locations recognisable. Castle Douglas and Wigtown also provide intrigue and interest for all the family, with great food and activities available at each. The Chocolate Factory at Twynholm will no doubt keep the children entertained, or the Laggan Outdoor Activity Centre for the energetic! There are several festivals throughout the year, and the area is great for nature enthusiasts, and those seeking a good walk, cycle or a spot of fishing (you can even bring your own tackle and boat). With the beach on your doorstep, why not spend some time beachcombing, or exploring the rockpools across the lane?

There is ample parking next to Creel cottage, along with an enclosed garden to the rear, housing a small, wooden, lockable shed.

We provide welcome packs for the kitchen and bathroom, and are happy to receive an Asda/Tesco delivery for you prior to arrival. A small, well behaved dog is welcome, along with its own bedding, lead and towel for cleaning sandy/muddy paws after having fun! We also offer vouchers, should you wish to gift a stay or a voucher of any value towards a stay at Creel Cottage to a loved one or friend who deserves a fantastic treat.
Short breaks available Mon - Fri and Fri-Mon during Jan - March and Oct-Jan.
