Recently listed as one of '50 Cool Cottages in the UK' in the Sunday Times (March 2018) Jack's Cottage has been completely restored, retaining charming original features including stone flagged floors, exposed wooden beams and an original working range fireplace, whilst also enjoying contemporary comforts, including full central heating and free wi-fi, together with stunning local views. Arrive with just your suitcase - Longnor and Jack's Cottage can provide everything you need for a wonderful stay in the Peak District!!

The cosy living room features an original cast iron working range fire, exposed wooden beams and a stone flagged floor, together with a dining table with seating for two and a sofa, which can be converted into a small double bed for occasional additional guests.

Opening directly onto the patio and garden, the well equipped kitchen features a belfast sink together with all essential appliances and the necessary crockery, cutlery, glassware and cooking utensils. Please note there is a freezer compartment in the fridge.

In keeping with the period nature of the property, there is a fairly steep enclosed wooden staircase which leads upstairs to the landing and bedroom which has a 4'6" double bed and features the original wooden floorboards and decorative stone fireplace. The adjacent shower room includes a modern shower (please note there is no bath). All bedding and towels are provided and there is a hairdryer for your use.

Outside there is an enclosed, sunny, garden and patio with garden furniture and bar -b-que during the summer.

Renowned for its beauty and stunning scenery, The Peak District National Park is a haven for walkers, ramblers and cyclists, whatever the weather!

With a choice of pubs in the village, a well stocked village store, a Post Office, tearoom and a fish and chip shop, Longnor is the perfect base from which to explore this beautiful part of the world.

With so many things to see and do, visit the Opera House, Georgian Crescent and Royal Stables in Buxton, explore the magnificent houses at Chatsworth and Haddon Hall or visit the National Trust properties Hardwick Hall, Kedleston Hall or Calke Abbey. Stroll around the parks and gardens at Ilam and Tissington, Biddulph Grange and Lyme Hall or enjoy an afternoon exploring the antique shops and tearooms in Ashbourne or the market towns of Bakewell and Leek.

For the more adventurous, take on the Tissington, High Peak and Manifold cycle trails or visit the Heights of Abraham at Matlock or Poole's Cavern or the Blue John Mines at Castleton. There's something for everyone and never a dull moment!

Saturday is our preferred changeover day, but we are happy to accommodate your preferred start date or length of holiday. Short breaks available all year - please contact us for prices. Minimum stay usually 2 nights.

We welcome pets for an additional £10 charge per stay.
