Lovely cottage set in relaxing red kite country in Carmarthenshire

Upper Cottage is situated at Clyn Glas, an old farmhouse that has been developed over the last two centuries.

The cottage has been converted from an old agricultural building that may have once served as a cowshed. Upper Cottage has been recently refurbished to a high standard.

Set in the hamlet of Cwmhiraeth, Upper Cottage affords views across a wooded valley and there is access to vast network of footpaths directly from the property.

Upper Cottage sleeps two, although fold out beds are available to increase the capacity to four, and has a cosy, homey lounge/dining room, fitted kitchen and a lovely bathroom all on the ground floor.

The bedroom upstairs is 'A' frame and has a large double bed.

The kitchen is fully equipped with modern conveniences and the lounge has an open fire, TV with DVD and video, CD/radio player and a wealth of books for all ages to enjoy.

The cottage has it's own garden and is provided with furniture and a barbeque for relaxing outside after a hard days walking and exploring the local area.

Cwmhiraeth lies about three quarters of a mile from the village of Drefach-Felindre and approximately three miles from the small town of Newcastle Emlyn with its ruined castle, beautiful walks and the River Teifi, where angling is just one of the many relaxing activities that can be taken part in whilst visiting this lovely part of Wales.

Cardigan is fourteen miles from Upper Cottage and Carmarthen is only eighteen miles away in the opposite direction.

Upper Cottage is centrally situated for all three counties in this part of Wales. The Cardigan Bay coastline is about twenty minutes' drive away and there are numerous small beaches here, many approached through delightful wooded valleys.

Further South are the coastline, villages and towns of Pembrokeshire and inland the Prescelli Hills offer wonderful walking and spectacular views. Carmarthenshire also has a lot to offer. The South of the county has a wonderful coast and the countryside is beautiful in all directions. Clyn Glas is an excellent base for all sorts of activities.

There are excellent footpaths in this area, perfect for walking and taking in all the beautiful scenery. Bird life is fascinating here and it is not unusual to see large birds of prey such as the buzzard and red kite flying overhead. Seals give birth on some of the local beaches in the Autumn and dolphins and seals are very frequently spotted in the waters of our nearest coastlines.

This area is an excellent base for those who would like to spend time fishing ( game, coarse or sea), golfing or horse-riding. Facilities exist for these traditional occupations, but also for those who fancy trying their hand at karting or paint-balling.

On site we are able to offer individual tuition in wood-turning and many of our guests have returned home in proud possession of their own turned items!

Upper Cottage is the perfect base for exploring relaxing red kite country.
