Just Perfect

Date of stay: July 2017

This is the 2nd holiday we've had at Water's Reach. So close to the water you feel like you could put your hand in. The cottage itself is wonderful. The lounge has fantastic views (as does the main bedroom) and sitting there with a glass of wine looking out over the water at the sunset makes the perfect end to the day. There's everything you need - books, games, TVs etc + a fabulous kitchen. For us it's the perfect relaxing break. Lovely accommodation in lovely a setting in a lovely little town.

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your holiday in Waters Reach. Appledore too, is very special to us.
Thank you for thinking of giving us such a great review. Much appreciated.

Outstanding views, stunning location, we'd highly recommend staying at Water's Reach

Date of stay: October 2016

We really enjoyed our stay at Water's Reach. We've never been to Appledore before but it's an absolute hidden gem. The views across the estuary from this lovely property are absolutely incredible and the beach right outside the front door. We went for lots of walks through the pretty, narrow streets and along the quay, and there's lots of lovely pubs and cafés to enjoy a bite to eat

We found so much to see and explore, and had a wonderful holiday. We can't wait to stay again next year. :)

always a home from home

Date of stay: September 2016

We, as a couple, have stayed in Appledore many times over the years but have never felt so at home as we do at Waters Reach. Lost count of the numbers of visits. Good for the soul - watching the tide coming and going; good local cafes, pubs and restaurants. And perfect walking country, of course. Highly recommended.

Just returned from another stay at this beautiful property, my family fell in love with it just as I did a few years ago. The location and accommodation provided is superb in every way, the view across the estuary is ever changing and the position of this property allows you to enjoy it at its best. Appledore remains a friendly and unspoilt village and the reason we return whenever possible.

Fantastic house and location

Date of stay: May 2016

I felt at home as soon as I walked into the house. We spent a wonderful week in Waters Reach and enjoyed every moment we were there. I can highly recommend it to families or couples. The views were stunning from both the sitting room and bedroom. The kitchen was obviously new and worked well for us. We didn't want for anything. We loved The Beaver nearby, as it was active ands dog friendly too.The Jazz evenings were fantastic. We will definitely be back.

I believe you have visited Waters Reach before, so it was good to see that you have written a review for us this time. Thank you.

What a lovely comfortable and homely house with excellent facilities and views.

Date of stay: May 2016

Not knowing what to expect when we arrived at our holiday accommodation we were not disappointed. It was everything we wanted and more. Appledore was not disappointing either with plenty of choice for dining and friendly local pubs with entertainment most nights. This was our first visit to Appledore and certainly will not be the last. Thank you for an excellent stay.

Wonderful Holiday Home in a Fantastic Location

Date of stay: May 2016

Water's Reach is beautiful and extremely well equipped. It is decorated and furnished to a high standard and contains everything needed for a comfortable week's holiday. The location is stunning, views from the sitting room and bedroom are amazing. Appledore is picturesque with many pretty cottages, shops, cafes and pubs. The housekeeper, Linda, is charming and helpful. Other holidaymakers and the local people are all very friendly and to top it all the area is dog friendly. Highly recommended!

What a super review, Linda. Thank you. We were delighted to hear that you had such a lovely holiday. Appledore is, indeed, dog friendly. Chilli, our dog loves his holidays down there. He encourages my husband to take him to The Beaver whenever he can. Biscuits on the bar!
We hope to have you as our guests another time.

Lovely location with plenty to do, just make sure you take out travel insurance.

Date of stay: March 2016

The location of the property has very pleasant views over the estuary and is an excellent location for quiet evenings down by the harbour. The accommodation is generally tidy and clean although dated in places, reflecting its lower price. Unfortunately we accidently dropped an iron on the carpet only to find out the owners were insured for accidental damage but the tenants were not. Their insurance company is now trying to recover £480 damages from us. So travel insurance is a must here.

We absolutely fell in love from the moment we arrived at Waters Reach

Date of stay: August 2015

We just wanted to thank you both so much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home in Appledore - I absolutely fell in love and from the moment we arrived I felt as though I was in a different world. The house was a joy and serviced our every need.

Waking up the sound of lapping water or the cry of a seagull every morning was amazing.

It was wonderful to see our big children become children again! They loved crabbing and I think we have all put on a few pounds having taken several

How lovely to read your review. Thank you, very much, for wanting to write one for us. We think that Waters Reach is rather special too. As my cousin once said... Light years away from the M25! It is the lapping waves and seagulls that make it unique really. I hope you may come down again, one day?

Great holiday again!

Date of stay: August 2015

Thanks for letting us stay in your lovely house again. Perfect location for a peaceful break, but plenty to do locally to keep us all entertained. The house is spacious, well equipped and clean, but best of all is the view, I could (and did) sit for hours just looking at and listening to the estuary! I am sure we will visit again soon x

Love the location, lovely position

Date of stay: August 2015

We've visited waters reach for several years, at different times of year and always had a really good, relaxed time. Accommodation has a great location, 20 steps to the slipway to the beach and local facilities. The views from 1st floor lounge are excellent and encourages you to relax and watch the world go by. The accommodation has plenty of room for the family and makes a good base for exploring the area, but staying local is is just as good. Lovely local people and an easy going, peaceful pla

Lovely' relaxing holiday

Date of stay: June 2015

Have stayed at waters reach several times now .Cottage is both clean and comfortable with everything we could need. The housekeeper is easily contacted if needed and parking nearby.very few cottages have own spaces as roads are narrow and quaint. Yes there are stairs but not steep as are many Appledore cottages, and the view! Watched sunrise from in bed.We hope to return next year .we do look to go elsewhere but never found anywhere that compares favourably

Hello there, Aileen and Roger,
I was trying to reckon on how many visits you have made down to Waters Reach. It is quite a lot! Thank you so much for writing a review for us. I think you were lucky again with the weather. Please telephone and tell us what you got up to, this year.

A Beautiful Location and a memorable holiday.

Date of stay: May 2015

I can not fault Water's reach, what a beautiful location, with the slip way no more than ten steps away from the front door and onto the beach.
In the front rooms of the house you can hear the tide coming in and going out, the house has all that you could possibly need, all the creature comforts and a lot more too, the house is warm and comfortable.
Appledore is a gem unspoilt, I love going there and always feel truly relaxed
I would highly recommend Waters reach and all it has to offer.

Thank you so very much for this review. I am pleased that you enjoyed Appledore as much as we do.
Lovely for people to read this.

Lovely accommodation in a beautiful location

Date of stay: May 2015

Really nice 3-storey terraced house overlooking the estuary, furnished to a high standard, with a decent kitchen and comfy double bed. The dishwasher, tumble-drier and washing machine came in really handy too.

I really enjoyed our stay there, but be aware that there are quite a lot of stairs up to the bedrooms, and there is no bathroom on the same floor as the bedrooms. You'll also have to pay for parking though it's fairly priced. If this doesn't bother you, you should have a great stay.

fantastic views

Date of stay: April 2015

stopped at easter with family and dog...fantastic views across estuary , with easy access to beach (and dog friendly pub around 100m away) the house is lovely, lots of books to read and games to play should weather turn inclement, the house is a little gem , if you have ever dreamed of living in a true seaside cottage next to the sea , then this hits the spot , Appledore is lovely town thats well geared up for visitors, with Clovelly and Barnstaple just a short run away then plenty to do

Outstanding views across estuary

Date of stay: August 2014

Our third holiday to this lovely old three storey house well equipped with everything you may need from cooking utensils to books and games. The views from both lounge and bedroom are spectacular over the estuary, and only a few steps to the beach for crabbing when the tide is out. My grandchildren loved our holidays here and are always saying when are we going to Appledore.
