cosy 2 bed stone cottage with stunning views of the Bowmont valley

Harelaw House was built in 1593 and the two adjoining self-catering cottages, Leveret and Hoolit were restored in 2004 to a high standard and have everything you need for a comfortable stay.

You are welcome to wander through our 2 acre woodland garden, complete with a large wildlife pond, natural meadow, many native trees and a mixed native hedge. A small burn runs through the property but many areas are left undisturbed for mammals, birds and insects to flourish.

There is a barn owl nest box with a nest camera in the gable of the property and you can watch the owls rear their chicks on the tv in the cottage. (4 barn owl chicks raised in 2010.

The region surrounding Harelaw is renowned for castles and fortifications. Berwick, Lindisfarne, Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh, Norham, Etal and Warkworth are within easy reach. Alnwick Castle is 35 miles away.

Other attractions include many abbeys and priories, stately homes, market towns, wonderful walking, bird watching, fantastic fishing and horse riding.

Hoolit Cottage offers 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom; upstairs bathroom; fully equipped kitchen/diner; lounge with wood burning stove; downstairs shower room/WC.

A door leads out from the sitting room onto a patio area with barbeque area.There is also an outdoor seating area to the back and to the front of the cottage with garden furniture.

Everything is provided for an enjoyable stay.
