Popular cottage in the heart of working hill farm, superb walking and climbing.
Beautiful sheltered corner of Dunnerdale amongst native oakwoods and flower-rich meadows in a sweeping bend of the River Duddon. An area with ready access to easy valley walks, challenging fell walking and climbing crags.
The cottage adjoins Wallabarrow farmhouse and overlooks the garden, beck, rocky crags and farmland. Plenty of space and farm animals for children and only a short woodland walk to the local country pub. The Newfield Inn is open all day serving good food and local beers.
Wildlife and landscape conservation are priorities at this National Trust farm which lies at the base of Wallabarrow Crag. Only footpaths and bridleways continue into the fells. A perfect location for families, walkers, cyclists, bird-watchers and anyone needing to relax. Visitors are free to roam over 450 acres of farm woodlands, pastures and hill ground.
The Cottage offers wonderful views of Dunnerdale Fell from the front and views of Wallabarrow Crag from the back.
