Set in the beautiful countryside of the Peak District National Park, Moorfield Lodge is part of a large country mansion built in 1861 by a local family who made their fortune from cotton.

Moorfield Lodge is a self-catering holiday cottage dating back to 1861 standing in 5 acres of the beautiful park-like grounds of Moorfield House.

Centrally heated throughout, there is a comfortable lounge with a suite, colour digital TV/DVD player and CD/cassette/radio. There is a dining room with a table and chairs as well as a fully fitted kitchen/breakfast room with gas hob, electric oven, washer/drier, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave and all the usual kitchen equipment. Upstairs there is a recently refurbished modern bathroom with WC, basin and large corner bath/shower, one double bedroom and one twin bedroom. The dining room also doubles as a twin-bedded room if required.

There is ample parking space. In addition, residents are welcome to use the extensive grounds in which the Lodge is set. All water, gas, electricity, linen and towels are included in the rental price. Wireless internet access is available at the main house 100 yards away.

Situated 2 miles from the centre of Glossop, a bustling market town, it is a mile from both the A624 and A57 (Snake Pass) roads and so easily reached by car. The nearest bus is one mile away and the railway, two miles away, has a half hourly service to the centre of Manchester (journey time 30 minutes).

Nestling amongst the foothills of Kinder Scout, Moorfield's location is excellent for fell walking or visiting nearby Manchester, Cheshire and Yorkshire, as well as the rest of Derbyshire.
Moorfield Lodge provides an excellent centre for a family holiday in Derbyshire.
