Family run holiday cottages in a rural hamlet within the Lake District National Park. Exceptionally clean quality eco-friendly self-catering holiday accommodation in the rural hamlet of Redmain, two miles from Cockermouth, Cumbria.
Huddlestone Cottage is converted from a 17thC stone barn and has lofted ceilings and exposed stone walls. It is exceptionally clean and warm and bed linen is 100% cotton with duvets. The cottage has a king-size and twin beds, open log fire and all expected modern kitchen appliances as befits 4 Star Accommodation and also has 4 Star Fittings.
Huddlestone Cottage is equipped with fridge, freezer, microwave, washer/dryer, widescreen TV, Freeview, DVD/CD player, radio, electric and heating included, linen, blankets, duvets, towels, open log fire, shower room and corner bath. Sleeps up to four people plus baby. There is a high chair and travel cot available for an extra £5 each.
Please note that 5 and 6 night short breaks are priced the same as a week.
A non-refundable deposit of £100 is required when booking. The outstanding balance to be paid four weeks prior to arrival. A receipt will be sent confirming your booking.
Huddlestone Cottage has fully glazed entrance doors leading to an open plan living, dining and kitchen area. A log fire gives a warm focal point. There is a downstairs toilet and shower room. A pine staircase leads upstairs where there is a second full bathroom equipped with a corner bath. Two double bedrooms provide a king size bed and a twin bedded room to sleep four people.
There is a three acre wildlife garden to enjoy, including meadows walks, garden furniture, picnic tables, barbecues, wildlife pond, herb garden and potager, meditation garden, and bog garden.
Both cottages have Broadband 24/7 internet access cable (Cat 5 Network) and Wifi wireless access point for connection to your own computer equipment. Broadband is charged at an extra £15 per week or short break stay. Please note that use of this Wifi Broadband is based on the guest’s basic use for email and browsing the Internet. Usage on our monthly bandwidth is limited and it is, therefore, not possible to make heavy downloads such as video and music without incurring extra charges. We use software to track online use, and hold the right to charge extra for any heavy downloads.
Both cottages are for Non-Smokers only.
Closeby are some of the Western lakes most imposing fells Skiddaw, Grassmoor, Red Pike, Highstyle and Grisedale Pike. The Western lakes include Bassenthwaite Lake with Sailing Club and Osprey view point, Loweswater for rowing and walking.
Derwentwater for kayaking and boat rides and island hopping, Buttermere for walking and sheer beauty, Crummock Water and the jewel in the wild crown is Ennerdale, superb biking and walking and getting away from the crowds and home to the famous Pillar Rock and Steeple.
