A Traditional lakeland cottage for four people
Braithwaite is a pretty Lakeland village in the North Lakes tucked between Grisedale Pike and Skiddaw where the unspoilt Newlands Dale joins the Valley of Derwent.
The cottage stands in a row of old stone cottages dating back to the early 19th century at the side of the Coledale beck. Bassenthwaite Lake and Derwent are within 5 minutes and the Valleys of Borrowdale, Buttermere and the Whinlatter Forest are close by.
The village store carries a comprehensive range of grocery products, newspapers and off licence goods. The Coledale, The Middle Ruddings and The Royal Oak pubs (all in the village and within walking distance) serve excellent food and children are welcome.
Heated by night storage heaters and fully carpeted throughout, the accommodation comprises of lounge with multi-fuel burning stove, TV/DVD player, plus CD / radio HI-Fi system with iPod/MP3 connection. Separate Dining room. Under stairs cupboard with washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, vacuum cleaner etc. Fitted kitchen with electric fan oven and hob, microwave, toaster, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.
Staircase to first floor with two bedrooms, one fitted with a double bed and the other with twin full size bunk beds. Duvets and pillows and bed linen are provided for all beds. Travel cot available. Bathroom with bath, hand basin and WC.
Outside to the rear is a garden with lakeland slate patio complete with garden furniture. Beyond this is a further paved area with communal drying facilities plus fuel store and bin area.
All electric and fuel and bed linen are included in the price.
Please note that towels are not provided.
Parking for one car only in front of the cottage.

Please note that the cottage is NON SMOKING.
It is possible to do many walks from the cottage without having to drive first. Some are as follows:
Approx 1000ft – Barrow, Sail and Coledale. Whinlatter forest, Seat How and the Lords Seat.
2000-3000ft – Coledale Horseshoe and Skiddaw.
All these and many more can be done on a circular walk.
