The comfortable accommodation, with electric heating throughout, comprises: entrance hall; living room with views over fields to Westbury Downs; fully equiped kitchen; bathroom with shower; large double bedroom and private garden. All linen except towels is provided and metered electricity is charged at 15p/unit.
Church Road, Heywood is a turning off the A350 between Westbury and Trowbridge. The Royal Oak, a ten minute walk by footpath across the fields, provides excellent food and a 24 hour garage at Yarnbrook has a convenience store for emergency supplies. There is a rail station, with taxi service, at Westbury and bus stops at each end of the village with some buses passing the property. Westbury (1.5 miles) has many facilities including: indoor heated swimming pool; leisure centre; snooker club; a variety of public houses and a night club as well as two supermarkets and a range of local shops and take-away food outlets, many doing home deliveries. There are several golf courses nearby.
Westbury is the cross roads of the west, an ideal centre for visiting the fine Georgian city of Bath; Bristol with its cathedral and docks area with the preserved SS Great Britain; the market city and cathedral of Salisbury and the fastest growing modern town of Swindon. Between these major towns and cities lie many picturesque and interesting towns and villages and such attractions as: The Lions of Longleat; the village and abbey of Lacock and the house and gardens of Stourhead and many other National Trust and English Heritage properties. Both Dorset and Somerset coast resorts, Wookey Hole, Cheddar Gorge, Wells and Glastonbury are within easy reach and the county of Wiltshire abounds with archeological sites: Stone Henge; Avebury stone circle; West Kennett long barrow; Silbury Hill and numerous hill forts and the famous White Horses.
