Spacious - 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, double-height living room, log fire and garden
A spacious coachhouse conversion in the grounds of a large country house in the beautiful countryside of the South Hams near the village of Harberton and the historic town of Totnes. Between the sailing centres of Dartmouth, Kingsbridge and Salcombe and the rugged wilderness of Dartmoor, it is an ideal centre for exploring this area of South Devon which possesses one of the most beautiful coastlines in England and excellent beaches. At hand are charming towns and villages with atmospheric pubs and three nationally renowned restaurants. Walking, riding, golf, fishing, sailing, windsurfing and canoeing are all available nearby.
The fully centrally-heated, 3 bedroom house is dominated by the impressive, 23’ double-height living room with its pine balustrade gallery, open roof beams, natural stone fireplace, bookshelves, pottery and rugs. It has a dining and a living area with TV and entertainment systems.
The modern fitted kitchen/breakfast room is well equipped with dishwasher, full-height fridge-freezer, microwave, electric hob and oven together with a breakfast table seating up to six. The utility room houses the washing machine, tumble dryer and boiler.
On the other side of the living room is a ground floor double bedroom with a king-size (5’) bed. The en-suite bathroom has a bath and shower, WC and washbasin.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one at either end of the living room gallery. One has twin beds and the other a double (4’ 6”) bed. Next door to the double bedroom is the second bathroom with bath and shower, WC and washbasin.
The house and all its principal rooms face south on to the original cobbled stable courtyard. Two archways in the stone wall across the courtyard lead to an enclosed, lawned garden bordered by shrubs and climbers growing against the wall. There is ample parking for two or more cars.
Small children and babies are catered for with the provision of a cot, stairgates, highchair and booster seat as well as the garden
The reasonable use of electricity, wireless broadband and the telephone for outgoing local calls and all incoming calls is included. You can use BT and other chargecards to make outgoing long distance and international calls Most visitors bring their own bed linen (2 king-size and 2 single duvets), towels and drying up cloths but we can arrange for their hire if required. The only additional charges are for central heating, based on oil usage at cost, and logs.
