Tan-y-Bryn in Ceredigion, a cottage in Cardigan Bay and Mid Wales: Tan-y-Bryn exterior

Tan-y-Bryn has been awarded 3 Stars by the Welsh Tourist Board and sleeps up to four guests in two bedrooms (a twin and double room). Offering an affordable and homely retreat, the cottage sits in an enviable position just ten minute's walk from Penbryn's glorious sandy beach (owned by the National Trust).

Nestling amongst the beautiful Welsh hills in Ceredigion, Tan-y-Bryn sits in a wooded valley amongst trees, and is an excellent choice for those who enjoy all that nature has to offer with fantastic walks, excellent bird watching and lazy days swimming and relaxing on the beach (without even needing to get behind the wheel of a car!).

Ceredigion offers the opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of modern living. A place where you can enjoy the freshest of air, the cleanest of beaches, incredible wildlife, magnificent castles (such as Cardigan Castle and Cilgerran Castle), pretty fishing villages and ancient market towns where you can sample local produce.

The coastline of Ceredigion stretches some fifty miles from north to south, leaving Snowdonia in the distance as it makes its way south towards the Pembrokeshire National Park. Sandwiched between two of the most beautiful and popular destinations in Wales, Ceredigion is not to be overlooked. Its Heritage Coastline is peppered with pretty little towns and villages just waiting to welcome you, and a wealth of maritime heritage where you can discover the tales of smugglers past.

This beautiful county is one of quieter jewels in the Welsh crown and has something to offer everyone. Spend your days building sandcastles on award winning beaches, explore the dramatic cliff top walks or take a boat trip to see the resident dolphins. For twitchers and wildlife lovers, there are nature reserves that allow you to see the local wildlife such as RSPB Ynys-hir, Dyfi Estuary (a habitat of sea, mountain and estuary that is teeming with wildlife) and Bwlch Nant yr Arian Forest (where you can see the Red Kites feeding) to name just a few. Visit Penbryn Church (the oldest church in Wales which you can see from behind the cottage), enjoy a nostalgic trip on the Vale of Rheidol Railway or the Teifi Valley Railway, visit the magical Cenarth Falls or take the little ones to one of the many child-friendly attractions such as the Honey Farm or Reptile World at New Quay. The Wickedly Welsh Chocolate Factory in Haverford West is also worth the drive and sure to be a holiday highlight!

With one of Ceredigion's most popular beaches and miles of coastal path a short walk away, plus an abundance of attractions within easy reach, Tan-y-Bryn and its beautiful setting is perfect for doing as much or as little as your heart desires in this picturesque part of Wales.
