A choice of 35 holiday bungalows on a privately owned and communally managed site, situated on the coast between Yarmouth and Totland bay, close to the beautiful West-Wight town of Freshwater.
The quiet rural cliff-top estate, overlooking the western end of the Isle of Wight, enjoys fantastic sea views of the Solent and English Channel from the Needles to the Dorset and Hampshire coasts. Looking directly west the sunsets are tremendous.
Many yacht races start directly in view from the site. 1000 yachts open their spinnakers as they round the Needles in the Round the island race in June, and there is the Power-boat races in August.
The Self-Catering holiday village is split into two areas:
Brambles Chine is level and close to the beach, next to a playing field with sports and children's play equipment;
Cliff End is slightly sloping with stunning views of the Solent and coast, and adjoins the Fort Victoria Country Park.
The whole estate is just a few minutes' walk from the safe bathing beach of Colwell Bay, with all the seaside facilities you would expect.
Alum bay, Blackgang Chine, Robbin Hill you must visit with children of all ages, while the adults can walk the Tennyson way to Carisbrooke Castle in quiet peace, even in the peak holiday season.
The Isle of Wight is known as the "Garden-Isle" because it has it's own mild micro-climate that extends the flowering season, and allows you to find sunshine very often when the mainland is overcast or raining, and West-Wight is the jewel in the crown with the mildest weather.
Linstone Chine is an ideal seaside summer holiday venue for families with children: while in earlier and later months it also forms an excellent base for walkers and cyclists to explore the Island, in small or large groups. Hang gliders, surfers, bicycle, motorcycle and car rallies flock to the island, in the early and late season. We get University students on field trips for fossil hunting or geology, as a Site of Special Scientific Interest on part of the "Dinosaur Coast"..
The three star fully furnished self catering accommodation available on site consist of one double and one twin-bedded bedroom; a bathroom with heated towel rail, WC, washbasin and bath with shower over; and a large living room with fully equipped kitchen/dining area and sitting area with sofa (some sofa-beds) and easy chairs. Car-parking bays are close by.
All bungalows are privately owned and some include central heating, which is ideal for out-of-season breaks. Check when booking if you require sun loungers or a barbecue for the patio, as bungalows vary.
There is a small shop on site and launderette. Tennis rackets and golf clubs can be hired from the office for a small deposit.
Free tickets are provided for the swimming pool complex in Freshwater.
